Megan & 'Mando in Mexico update - January 2014

Read our January update to find out if we met our fundraising goal to "raise the roof" of the breakfast club building by the end of 2013!

Also, you'll find a brief family update regarding Baby Hernandez-Riggott, as well as information about our current need for monthly donors to continue serving breakfast twice each week...

RAISE the ROOF!

Update (30 December 2013):

We are SO close to meeting our goal for 2013!  We are only $300 away from being able to finish the essentials of the new breakfast club building (roof, doors, electrical)...
  • the roof is up (except for the tarp)
  • the doors are installed (except for 1 doorknob)
  • the electrical supplies are all purchased and the electrical boxes are in place (just need to find/pay someone to do the actual wiring)
If you are able to help us meet our goal (or to go beyond?!?*) by making a tax-deductible year-end donation, see below to find out how.  We're trusting that God will provide before the end of the year... yes, that's tomorrow, but we believe in a big God!  Might He do it through you?

If you'd like to make a tax-deductible donation before the end of the year, please go to the HWB donation page (http://hopewithoutboundaries.com/Donate.html) to make a donation or send a check to Hope Without Boundaries at 639 Santa Camelia Drive, Solana Beach CA 92075. Please let us know if you've made a donation so we can let HWB know it's for Panes y Pececillos!

*What happens if we surpass our goal?!? That would be great, because we still need to:
  • tile the floors (just got an estimate on material/labor: $700)
  • put drywall up on the interior walls/ceiling
  • build benches for the kids to sit on (right now they eat standing up)
  • and eventually buy more tables!

Update (25 December 2013):

We are only about $50 short of our goal of $1,850 to finish the roof of the breakfast club building!  This is as of Christmas Day.  We admit that we have at times doubted that God would come through in providing what was needed to RAISE the ROOF before the end of 2013, but He has answered our prayers through your generous donations.  Since there are still 6 days left before the new year, we decided to ask Him for one thing more: enough money for the doors and electrical for the new breakfast club building.  So you might notice that the goal amount has changed to $2,250, of which we only need another $450 to meet!  If you'd like to make a tax-deductible donation before the end of the year, please go to the Hope Without Boundaries donation page (http://hopewithoutboundaries.com/Donate.html) to make a donation or send a check to Hope Without Boundaries at 639 Santa Camelia Drive, Solana Beach CA 92075.  Please let us know if you've made a donation so we can let HWB know it's for Panes y Pececillos!

Update on the breakfast club building fundraiser (21 December 2103):

The walls are completed! We now need to raise funds for the roof (an estimated $1,850 cost). Our hope is to finish by the end of 2013. All donations made through Hope Without Boundaries are tax-deductible. (See the "Donate" page.)

We've currently raised almost half of what is needed for the roof! We still need another $987 to finish the project. Will you help us RAISE the ROOF before the end of 2013?!?

Wondering what this is all about? We are currently raising funds to build a separate room on our patio for the breakfast club. As of now, the kids eat outside on the patio as there are too many to fit in our home. We hope to have this done before the weather becomes too cold & rainy to eat outside (in which case we would have to suspend breakfast club until spring). If you are able to help with this project with a one-time tax-deductible donation, the kids & we would be so grateful!

Megan & 'Mando in Mexico update - December 2013

As promised, here's a special update on the Panes y Pececillos building project, including total donations received, expenses thus far, & what is still needed to build the ROOF! Our hope is to finish the roof by the end of 2013, but to do so, we still need about $1,850.

Can you help?

Please note, we receive donations through Hope Without BOUNDARIES (a few have accidentally donated to an organized called Hope Without Borders)... use the link above to make sure your donation goes to the right place! Also, it's very helpful if you send me an email or Facebook message letting me know that you've made a donation... first because we can continue construction if we know how much money is coming in, and secondly so that we can make sure your donation comes through correctly!

And of course... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
